    Pros

I feel like I've hit the jackpot with this company. The work we do makes a huge impact in people's lives. There is so much opportunity for growth and development. It is very difficult to be an expert in each area so you are always continuously learning. The company gives you the training you need to be successful, it is just up to the individual to implement it.

    Cons

Not many that I can think of. The only potential downside is that if you happen to work with a specific Managing Director/Managing Partner that you don't personally "click" with. The work is difficult but at the same time extremely rewarding.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fairly compensate staff employees that are asked to wear multiple hats.

I worked at Northwestern Mutual as an intern (more than a year)

    Pros

Company takes the time to develop and train their employees and creates a success driven environment. There is always a quota or contest in place to motivate workers to make and surpass goals.

    Cons

Minimum goals can be unreasonable to maintain as the industry is built on a referral basis. There are times when it seemed the focus was hitting a target of policies submitted rather than the quality of work conducted by each representative.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend time identifying employees' niche and help develop an approach strategy that fits the representative and target clientele.
