I worked at Northwestern Mutual

Pros

Hands-on experience, amazing co-workers, helpful mentors, wonderful office, and a great product that will truly help people

Cons

Few people want insurance - it's hard to hear people say no when they clearly need it. Also, commission-based salary can make income level uncertain.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company is on the right track. Keep it up!

I have been working at Northwestern Mutual full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

A mutual insurance company. Northwestern Mutual is one of the most, if not the most, stable employer in the Milwaukee area.

    Cons

Northwestern Mutual has been paring back its benefits package. The company pension, in particular, has been nearly eliminated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring salaries more in line with the rest of Milwaukee's job market.
