I have been working at Northwestern Mutual part-time (more than an year)

Pros

The company is very goal orientated and the management team helps each person create and reach their goals. The atmosphere is very friendly and coworkers are open to helping others out when possible. Management is open to hearing your ideas and hearing about how different things have worked for you.

Management has a very extensive recruitment and interview process, but that is so that they can make the most informed decision possible when selecting employees.

Cons

I can not think of any major cons for this position. If you do your job well and show that you are taking matters into your own hands to improve the way things are done, then you are able to make the position your own and do it the way you want to

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to hire great people. The interview and selection process is very long, but for good reason.

I worked at Northwestern Mutual as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

It challenged me and sharpened a lot of my skills. The ability to "be my own boss" at a young age was a very unique experience. I enjoyed the fact that I dictated my own outcome.

    Cons

The job is completely sales when you get down to it. That aspect should not be ignored. You are expected to produce from the get go, with not much leeway.
