I worked at Novantas full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

-the pay. raises are very generous, and bonuses are as well when the company is performing well.
-some partners are very intelligent - particularly the ones with an MBA from a top-5 school. not saying it's a cause-effect relationship, but it just seemed the two bosses I had who had those MBAs really knew their stuff
-less travel than other consulting firms

    Cons

-having to learn SQL in essentially a week
-very demanding hours; managers are rather unconscious of analyst burnout and will push you as hard as they can even if the work is sometimes unnecessary or excessive
    -virtually non-existent training program
-working on weekends when you get an email on your phone (which happened a lot, unfortunately..)
-working in a declining industry that is undergoing quite a bit of disruptive innovation (which usually is a good thing, but not for the established banks - and Novantas doesn't consult for Square, Paypal, or other companies innovating the payments and retail/commercial banking industries)
-company growth has stabilized and was starting to decline
-being exposed to only one industry; other consulting firms like Bain, BCG, & McKinsey will give you exposure to various industries, keeping your future career prospects more open. (they also provide better hours)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

keep your analysts happy (with more than just pay), or they will all leave for better opportunities. i left after getting an offer from Bain..

    Pros

Small project teams allow you to learn a lot quickly

    Cons

Small company = less brand recognition and general infrastructure. Projects get repetitive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Analyst burnout is something to be monitored
