Pros

If you love pharmaceuticals, and you love precision and not communicating with others, you'll be happy here.

Cons

No real community effort here. It's cubicle heaven.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let people breathe. Get some communication going and getaway from the uber-Germanic approach of work for work's sake.

    Pros

Professional development is clearly defined and acheivable, but is directly related to the competancy of your FLM.

    Cons

HR is designed to cover up mis-doings of mid-level mangement

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Employees are a vauable asset to Novartis, treat them that way. The economy will change and interllectual property will vanish-as it did 12 years ago. Novartis should NOT be a law firm that sells pills.

    Pros

They hire at competitive salaries and the overall benefits package is sufficient. The costs are expensive compared to their peers, but they are still a worthwhile part of coming here.

    Cons

Everyone is considered replaceable and expendible. There is a internal 'buddy' network in order to advance, and if you are not part of it, forget about moving on. This is one company that makes you feel that you are lucky to work for them, instead of having the sense that the company is lucky to have you.
