I worked at Nuffield Hospitals

Pros

They do try to develop you alot whilst you are the company. There are hundreds of different departments you can go into within the company as they own hospitals and clinics too. The facilities are prestige, and the customer service is great. The city club itself is the best gym/health centre you will find in London.

Cons

They do not pay you enough. If you are looking for and not too fussed about pay - this is a great place to work.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your staff more - so you are in line with other companies in the same sector.

Interesting and varied work in a friendly environment but lower than average pay and not much scope for promotion.

I worked at Nuffield Hospitals full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits such as gym membership and medical insurance. Company pension scheme. Offer good training opportunities, offer funding for appropriate courses. Free car parking. Family feel to the hospitals, with close multidisciplinary links due to having all departments under one roof. Nice environment to work in. Varied work, keeps things interesting.

    Cons

Not much opportunity for promotion, pay scale poor in comparison to NHS with no set increments. Difficult liaising with NHS lead services such as social services, occupational therapy etc as seen as 'private sector', there's a 'us and them' sort of attitude.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to make better use of senior staff, give them more responsibilities and more of a set structure to their role. Staff pay needs to all be brought in to line, some new staff earn more than experienced staff which is very poor. Need a set banding system, similar to NHS.
