Not much to look forward to!

Parts Specialist (Former Employee)
Taylor, TX

I worked at O'Reilly Auto Parts full-time for more than a year

ProsNot all oreillys are this way. But when you get a corperate conglomerate involved in micromanagement it's usually not good! You get a paycheck and you earn what they call an incentive but if you ask anyone around its a commission because its based upon sales!

ConsThey promise you advancement and string you along for the ride, the people who work there attempt to take credit for the work you accomplish (once again not all Oreillys) they reserve the right to make promises to you and not keep their word as an employer of course you can't technically get anything on paper anymore because most places are too lazy and its too much an inconvenience to write it down for the employee. Anyone with two cents and a tie can advance in this company including but not limited to liars and thieves. Which usually happens!

Advice to Senior ManagementStop hiring drug addicts and not giving them drug screening while you hire clean people and make them take a drug test! This should be illegal but there again legality hasn't much to do with those whom believe themselves above the law! Stop playing the favoritism card towards those whom are known by the higher ups! Start managing the store instead of stepping out! There is always supposed to be a key holder present in the store at all times this only occurs sometimes at the stores where the key holder runs off to the bank which isn't supposed to happen! Start being more attentitive to your customers and start paying attention to their needs! Your returns rates are always too high but your bosses always complain about having to return something when they're not performing their job as a boss or manager!

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
