    Pros

    Great people to work with.
    Solid bendfits programs.
Excellent perks for employees like a fitness center and personal trainers provided at no charge.
Leaders that actually lead instead of micro managing and badgering their people.

    Cons

Salaries are a little lower than normal because of the non-profit nature of the company.
Sometimes a little short on holding people accountable.

    Advice to Management

Stay on the "bleeding edge" of technology. That's the only way you will remain competitive.

Great co-workers, very dedicated to the libraries and the profession, but good old boy management doesn't work.

    Pros

I worked with some great people over the years. Much talent and experience. Good benefits. Decent pay.

    Cons

Too many idiots that shouldn't be there. High school graduates (no college at all!) making $70,000 to put labels on books? Crazy. $70,000 for for a good old boy to ship materials? The two people they laid off in shipping might have made a combined $70,000. Another high school grad making $65,000 to be a cataloging supervisor? No wonder libraries complain of the high costs associated with OCLC.
Dedicated staff not appreciated or rewarded. They burn out or leave.

    Advice to Management

Clean house. Break up the cliques and good old boy clubs. Base promotions to manager on the ability to lead, not on tenure. Appreciate the difference makers and don't reward their bosses for the work others do.
