I worked at ONEAC

The products are high-quality. Comradery was okay among the sales staff despite a comp plan that pits sales people against each other. Lenient expense policies.

Sales is often viewed with contempt and seen as a necessary evil. Base salary is poor despite the fact products are premium-priced in a commodity market and require expert sales effort. Windows of opportunity are missed because sluggardly engineering practices are tolerated and seemingly encouraged by uncertain management. Executive management is clearly stymied as to the need for real marketing support and how financial considerations drive behavior of sales people and customers. No sense of loyalty outside of the executive office wing.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit watching pennies while dollars of experience walk away to competitors. Invest in marketing and sales as if it is the year 2000. Hold engineering accountable to reasonable due dates in order to earn a competitive position in the marketplace.
