I have been working at Oakley full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Smaller retail set up so you have lots of contact with corporate employees - you are not just 1 of 100.

    Cons

Since it is a smaller division there are some kinks to work out as far as procedures but the company is constantly evolving each year.

I worked at Oakley full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Young, spirited atmosphere
Amazing discount on eyewear and soft-goods
    Relaxed management style

    Cons

Lack of business/professional acumen throughout the company
Lack of analytical skillset at the district/regional/corprate level
Lack of ability to see beyond what Oakley has been in the past 20 years

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you want to continue to grow in a increasingly competitive retail culture, you must move from the "we're the bad-boys of retail" philosophy and pull in the reigns. Your DM's and RM's are setting a very poor example for the VERY young store managers and staff they're managing, whether it be

*store visits that are only based in 5 minute meet-and-greets followed by a day of shopping at the mall
*after-visit meals and drinks that render the DM/RM drunk and sharing inappropriate stories about themselves
*lack of professional coaching skills on the job site
*inappropriate relationships within others inside the organization, at all levels

After two "retail assaults" (annual store meetings), having upper management humorously scold the entire audience of impressionable store managers/DMs/RMs for "anyone failing to get arrested" by day 3, I realized I had to get out. I knew more than the business leaders above me, and after being encourage to lower my professional standards more than once, it was time to move on.
