The compensation is typically in products
Many inner promotions for associates with products and awards.

Cons

Long hours on your feet, even when you are management

Advice to ManagementAdvice

More benefits for for your longer-term employees, even when they are just the associates. This would give value to your associates and motivate them to work harder.

I have been working at Oakley

    Pros

Environment and culture-Oakley does not get caught up in a lot of the corporate BS that has taken over. The over all message is about producing a great product and branding it appropriately. It's casual, design driven, flexible, and fast-paced. The structure is very flat with easy accessibility to management. Working here forceses you to re-think how business is done, which can be a challenge for a lot of people. The people are friendly, and, for the most part, motivated. Being part of the Action Sports industry, Oakley attracts a very active employee base. They spend a lot of their free time out doors surfing, skating, snow-boarding, mountian biking, skiing, etc.

    Cons

Because of a focus on driving the design and the brand and the flexible environment. This can sometimes force you to re-think how you would approch things that you may other wise have handled in a different way at another company.
