I have been working at Océ Business Services full-time

Pros

If you are an aspiring paralegal or law school student, this is the perfect job for you to meet potential employers. At my site, the manager does not micro manage and allows employees to work at their own pace. Also, It is an added bonus to get the biweekly mileage check for work related trips.

Cons

You do not began to accrue paid days off until after 6 months. Employees earn 1 day per month and these sick/vacation days start over at the end of the year. If you get the flu in January, you can only get 1 paid day off. When you factor in everyday life occurrences, 12 days per year equals 0 vacation days. In addition, insurance takes more than a quarter of each pay check and employees have to pay out of pocket for doctors visits and medicine until the very high deductible is met. There are no opportunities for promotion and pay increases are rare.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

This company is not able to get more accounts or grow because it cheats employees out of benifits and does not offer the opportunity for growth. If you continue to do this, you will continue to loose good workers to other companies that treat employees better.

    I worked at Océ Business Services full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    It was full time, consistent work, and a pleasure to work with co-workers.

    Cons

    Management really hold tightly on the reins of finances, as regional managers gain 'savings' based bonuses. That said, raises and bonuses are nearly non-existent (an average raise can be from 5cents to 20cents increase hourly), as the company seems to state "no raises this year" every other one.
    There is also a great degree of management issues. They seem more interested in meeting contract terms than assuring the employees they have at sites (and send as temps) actually meet the needs of that site. Management and HR also have far too little interest in the needs of their employees, ignoring complaints and reducing benefits (what few exist).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    It comes down to the best interest of the company and longevity. Is it better to serve your clients and care for your employees, or maintain a high level of earnings for area managers and above? Stop making employees feel as though their just "lucky to have a job".

    Pros

    1. Very nice, hardworking, colleagues
    2. Everyone are treated as a family member
    3. Philippine GM is very intellgent, hard working and considerate
    4. New R&R activities that promote comaraderie and team work
    5. US Managers and employees are very cooperative, logical.

    Cons

    1. Mc Kinley Taguig Site is not accessible/ commuter friendly
    2. No other benefits aside from health card (dependents not included)
    3. Annual increase very low, management and HR could not explain how it arrived to the rating and increase of base pay
    4. Benchmark compensation and benefits from other Shared services/ BPO
    5. High turnover rate, tolerated by PH Controller so he could reach his "Bonus" targets

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1. Improve compensation and benefits
    2. Benchmark from other shared services and BPOs here in the Philippines
    3. Give Canon discounts to obsp employees
    4. reassess and realign OBSP GM and Controller's Bonus goals and targets
