I worked at Octagon as a contractor (less than an year)

Pros

Young environment, lots of fun office outings, work is exciting and new. A great thing to have on your resume if you're interested in sports marketing.

Cons

All of your hours must be 100% billable, they get a lot of small seasonal contracts which means people come and go often. Very low pay.

I worked at Octagon as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Opportunity to travel, great culture, knowledgeable, fun employees, one of the best in the sports marketing industry.

    Cons

Poor communication, inadequate compensation, little opportunity for advancement, employees often look down upon event coordinators/interns when event coordinators/interns put in a lot of hard work and effort.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Octagon is a huge company so it's difficult to communicate through all aspects of the company, however keep employees in the realm. Management within the office is great!

I have been working at Octagon full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Opportunity to experience all that the agency life has to offer

    Cons

low pay, long hours, lots of travel

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

more promoting from within. Eliminate the 2 year benchmark in each position before promotion. Promotions should be based on ability and talent, not how long one is in a position.
