I have been working at Off Broadway Shoes part-time

    Pros

It's GREAT, for the first thirty days. The discount is very impressive for retail, and there is a large selection of shoes for everyone.

    Cons

After thirty days on the job, it gets redundant. There is lack of leadership, initiative, and importantly - PROFESSIONALISM. The discount is overrated when you take home minimum wage while in college. Schedules are posted generally two weeks in advance and it's pretty black and white. HIGH TURNOVER!! Due to store budget, hiring staff when in need is an issue. Employees are on board for a few weeks before receiving any training. I'm not paid enough to listen to my coworkers including my bosses personal problems. There is no integrity. Customers get what they want at the expense of the store because the manager (trainee) is "afraid" of the customer causing a scene. There is theft on a weekly basis partly because lack of staff on the floor. The manager may be working with one associate or two, but those associates run the floor while the manager hides in the office or outside near the dumpster for that very necessary cigarette that cost the store at least 60 bucks because someone just shop lifted shoes from clearance or worse at full price. Then the manager leaves notes telling the staff to improve their customer service as that manager takes of for personal reasons leaving the assistant manager and one associate to run and close the store.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep Encore awards!!! There are several customers that are not happy with the new rewards program and they are not coming back. What happens at Rackroom needs to stay with Rackroom. Have the DM drop in on stores unannounced and speak with the staff and get the full view of what's really happening at your stores. Turn the heat up on the managers as far as their ability to lead and run the store as well as the quality of employees they have in that store. START asking questions!!!!! Stop listening to the lip service.
