I have been working at Office Depot full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Great salary, great work place, flexible work environment with the ability to work from home.

Cons

Typical corporate environment. Micro management, people watching people, older folks that are set in their ways. Perception is used to judge how you get promoted instead of ability and skills

Advice to Management

Non because their wont change a thing.

I have been working at Office Depot part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Generally very nice customers (Most people are nice and professional. As far as retail goes, they have an extremely nice customer base). -Flexible hours (My store manager will do anything to accommodate employees' time off requests, and availability changes, to the point of working double shifts to cover for people.) -Helpful management (They always try to teach employees new things every day, and are usually available to answer any questions)

    Cons

-Low pay for stockers (They start at minimum wage, giving almost no opportunities to move out of the stocking line of work into anything else.) -Customer obsession to the point of stalking (We must greet every single customer and attend to their needs as if we're "personal shoppers".) -Pushy sales practices (We must try to "attach" products to everything we sell, in order to fill a market basket.)

    Advice to Management

Back off the customer just a bit, and don't try to sell things to people that they don't want. "By The Way" sales are good, but the methods used are a bit insanity-inducing.
