I have been working at Office Depot part-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Good company, some good benefits

Cons

Pay for associates is low, all associates get roughly the same pay no matter what part of the store

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay parts of store different than others. (Floor associates different than cashiers, cashiers different from CPD, etc)

I worked at Office Depot full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Anyone may survive for years without being productive in Ecommerce Testing department as the management don't know anything about technology, business and domain.

    Cons

They have thousands of unnecessary test cases on the name of which their manual and automation testers keep passing time. Management was 100% dependent on development managers for test planning and strategy. It was obvious as the director had only 6 months previous exp. as manager and the manager had only 4 months previous exp. as Test Lead. Manual Testers continue working without any direction while Automation Testers has been promising since 5-7 years to automate the unnecessary test cases in near future.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire Quality people if want to do better in Ecommerce.

I have been working at Office Depot part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Air conditioner, flexible schedule, Long breaks, Movie tickets.

    Cons

Low pay, Underpaid, too much to list..
Where should i start. Managers treat you like slaves, there is a lot of favoritism old employees hate new employees because they have already made their own social groups. Also there's times were there is a lot of customers and they expect u to be at 30 different places at once, and attend every customer. Very low pay for the job you do I am cashier, technician and copy center for minimum wage. Manager don't get to do much of anything different except closing and opening and get paid more which is not fair. They expect you to be a super star for minimum wage and if not, you are written up or even fired if you are slow or get a complaint from a customer. There are a lot of customer complaints so be ready to answer questions. And if you go to work and its a slow day be prepare to recover..recover.. and recover most of the days that are slow which is most of the time.. All you do is recover the store. The most boring job in the planet.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They should be more laid back and open suggestions from employees. There are many people that take more then 15 minute breaks which is not fair. Also managers should be controlled too and written up if they mess up.
