Pros

good work life balance, and flexible with your schedule.

Cons

empty promises of being told you will be on the sales floor, but get stuck at being on register
being called out on things like not offering paper correctly.
being corrected for not doing your job correctly in front of customers.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

learn to treat employees with respect and pay them better than minimum wage and maybe they will stick around.

I have been working at OfficeMax part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great people to work with. Can usually get days off if you ask, other than blackout periods.

    Cons

've been with the company for two years and have only received a 15 cent raise. Management is clueless and lazy. Payroll is a joke. Corporate is full of morons. Closing then opening is hard on employees. If you're going to force employees that aren't qualified for a particular department, i.e. Impress, management should speak to the higher ups about a pay raise. Way too much responsibility for one person to handle with the amount of pay that is received. You can sell $2000 worth of materials, but if you don't get that Max Assurance, you're pretty much worthless.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go back to the old way and get rid of this stupid selling revolution. It seems that this place is going to become completely based on commission on just insurance plans and CTRLCenter. It's madness.
