New York office in creative decline with a focus on awards rather than meeting client needs

I worked at Ogilvy & Mather

    Pros

The people you work with on the teams are very smart and capable. Good physical working conditions. Very good benetits.

    Cons

Management is currently a bunch of thumble-fingered bean counters without a clue about digital or about how to run a profitable and creative agency.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get out and let Ogilvy WW or WPP find a component management team.

I have been working at Ogilvy & Mather

    Pros

Great accounts from creative shop to media and PR divisions. Salary is slightly above average in comparison to similar agencies. Opportunities to learn a lot about other job functions at the agency as a whole.

    Cons

Promotions based on need at the time and may not reflect good judgment. Sometimes your team may be difficult to work with. A lot of procedural guidelines are missing or thought of on the spot. Raises may depend on the account you are placed and based on budgets.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Transparency.
