Life is good if you have tenure; otherwise, it's a thoroughly mediocre place to be.

Adjunct (Former Employee)
Fremont, CA

I worked at Ohlone College as a contractor for more than 3 years

ProsYou get to help students achieve their dreams; the expectations for hard work are non-existent; union protection for lazy folks; free parking for staff; there's a pond behind the cafeteria

ConsDecrepit 1960's facilities, good luck finding a parking spot, management perfectly happy to let part-timers string together multiple part-time gigs to pay the bills instead of hiring them on full-time

Advice to Senior ManagementAccepting pay raises while your staff hasn't had a raise and is worried about losing their jobs is certainly one way to do it... of course, it makes people hate you, so there is that to consider. Hiring two part-timers instead of one full-timer also makes you look like true pendejos.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
