    I have been working at Oklahoma State full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    You are offered health care, including dental and eye. Depending on your position, you have holidays off.

    Cons

    There is very much a "good ol' boys" mentality here. Difficult to fit in or advance unless you like to play politics. The average pay is not that stellar, and there are very little raises given out. The HR for the entire campus is very much a part of the politics game. When your HR representative is unwilling to be unbiased and assist you, you know that things are messed up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take care of your staff. Realize that each person is an individual. The ethics point system needs to take submissions more seriously.

    It's a large institution that provides stability, average pay, and reasonable benefits, reasonable retirement.

    Cons

    It's not a place for those that embrace change or seek to improve a system. Lack of creativity, top heavy management, micromanagement, good-ol-boy mentality.
