I have been working at Old Navy full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Promotions from within strongly encouraged and great "next level" preparation. Happy and accepting environment for all. I actually held myself back a bit because I didn't want to leave my family. Work/life balance is also strongly encouraged. Finally, it's wonderful to work for a company that is stable and has confident leaders.

Cons

It's retail... and with retail, the hours sometimes are a pain. Pay isn't worth mentioning because nobody really gets paid what the feel they deserve. Compensation is, however, competitive.

    Pros

The culture around Old Navy is excellent. Almost everyone is friendly with each other, and willing to help you succeed.

    Cons

The company does not do a good job of making upward movement well known to its employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make job listings more available to employees.

Great as far as retail goes. Just don't expect many hours.

I worked at Old Navy part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The dress code is basically nonexistent. As long as it isn't a competitor's item or offensive you can probably wear it. The coworkers and managers at my store were fantastic. I fit in quite well during the short time (seasonal) I was there. This is a pretty "easy" job. It isn't too demanding in the physical or mental department.

    Cons

As with all retail jobs there are always some troublesome customers. This surprisingly wasn't too common. Another thing common with retail is the lack of hours. I would sometimes get as low as five a week and never get more than fifteen.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spent time training your employees to do multiple tasks so they are able to get more hours. Everything else if pretty much fine.
