Pros

The people that you will work with are amazing! The constant support and encouragement has made the transition into "the real world" very easy! If you are looking for a career with growth opportunities, Omni is it! No matter what your field of interest is, there is a place for you and the ability to improve your skill level is endless.

    Pros

    It is a good place to get experience.
    $1.00 lunches.

    Cons

    The company used to do a lot more to make their employees feel appreciated. This may be specific to the San Antonio property but working there became akin to being hazed daily by an evil sorority. The Managers were unprofessional and immature and treated the hourly staff as if they were lesser quality people. It was even suggested that we lie on employee satisfaction surveys.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    All employees should be treated with respect and have their grievances heard without threat of retaliation by managers. Hourly employees should not be treated as if they were children. Management should also consider looking to promote from the talented pool of employees they have instead of stringing them along with promises they have no intention of ever delivering on.

    Incompetent leadership, poor work conditions

    Pros

    Good money during season, about 2 months

    Cons

    Very dirty, unsanitary. Management isn't knowledgable in cleanliness or sanitation regulations. Rats in food areas, expired moldy foods. Get schedules less than 48 hrs before new work week and management will still change department closing hours when you're closing, ie- restaurant closes at 7, they tell you at 630 that you are now open until 9 even though there is no business. You work 11 hour days and don't make 100 dollars. Management doesn't care about employees, cleanliness or quality of life. Worst job I've ever had.

    They need to go through training. If you can't do the jobs of the people you manage or are less knowledgable than your staff, you will or be an effective leader.
