Kept up to date with the down turn in the economy and how it affects us

Some of the management plays favorites (like most companies) and some management decisions are not 100% shared by the employees but overall they make good decisions.

Keep up the good work! It really is a good company to work for and there are good benefits. They take care of their employees.

    Pros

    opportunity for growth i believe is fantastic here. in hotels you pretty much start at the bottom so it is shame those with high educations and experience still start at the bottom.

    Cons

    schedule changes constantly making it difficult to have any sort of work/life balance. that is the nature of hotels though.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    the management is fantastic at omni hotels. they really care about your needs and desires as an employee especially if you have a career path.

    Pros

    Salary is competetive.
    Standard hospitality pros (discounted stays at other properties)
    Prestige that comes with the brand name
    Great promotion opportunity (but sometimes based on wrong reasons)

    Cons

    Empowerment is urged; however, when a decision is made based on the feeling of empowerment if management feels it was an incorrect decision then they make sure you are aware and don' t do it again.
    Hire and promote based on personal feelings and not based necessarily on professional merit.
    Talk the talk, but don't walk the walk.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Managers really need to promote the TRUE meaning of the Power of One. Employees do not feel they are empowered. Many have been made to feel inferior when trying to take ownership of an issue if the actions they choose are not what the supervisor or manager feels should have been done.
