I have been working at OmniPoint

Pros

Fast growing company provides plenty of opportunities for professional development and upward mobility.
Early entrant in SaaS HCM space provides unique opportunity to gain highly marketable job skills.
Small size of firm keeps culture more informal, flexible and personal than a large corporation.
Management’s background in large firms provides mentoring, structure, methodology, and tools that you wouldn’t normally expect in a smaller company.
Team energy is reminiscent of dot-com eagerness and collaboration, only this business is actually profitable.
Employees regularly plan activities outside of work from community service to competitive sports to happy hours, which reinforces the company culture.
Flexible work schedules and work-from-home policy.
Get to wear multiple hats to assist with internal initiatives and company growth, as a result of it being a small business.

Cons

Very much a project driven worth ethic vs. 9-5 corporate job – when a critical date is upon the team all employees are expected to contribute to deliver.
With increased flexibility around work schedules comes increased responsibility and accountability.
Asked to wear multiple hats at times assist with internal initiatives and company growth, as a result of it being a small business (e.g. for example, big emphasis on mentoring college hires).

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to make the investment into the company culture (e.g. bi-annual parties, training retreats, etc) in spite of the rapid growth which will make it increasingly costly and difficult logistically. The team atmosphere and collaboration in OmniPoint is the most unique quality that this organization possesses.

I have been working at OmniPoint full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

OmniPoint has a family atmosphere. The organization values resources that take initiative and work hard. The pay is directly related to your performance both in base pay and commission. From a working / life balance the company is flexible in allowing you to take time off to address items during the middle of the day or to work from home when needed. Overall the company has grown and continues to grow during a very challenging economical time. The company outlook is good with OmniPoint expanding and diversifying the lines of business.

    Cons

A benefit and a challenge is the ability to work form home or in different locations. Overall i think it adds value and flexibility, but seeing each other weekly could also add value. The majority of the team all work in one area with a few working remote 100% f the time.

    I worked at OmniPoint full-time

    Pros

Friendly and collaborative people, social atmosphere, limited travel, exciting product focus (Workday), investment in training

    Cons

Staffing and sales models are broken... expect to be either completely over-utilized or sitting on the bench; many management folks are in their positions by default, not due to skill level; can be a "boys club" at the top, so make sure you get in with the right leaders off the bat

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember that just because people are having fun doesn't mean that they are producing quality work; keep an eye on utilization of resources - cross-training will be paramount to your success; make sure your management team is skilled properly for their level and held accountable for the success or failure of projects

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
