Omnicom – “It's not too late. There's great people and success to build upon!”
Pros
An amazing global organisation which has the potential to be a great employer - but isn't. It depends on the part you operate within. If you are lucky you are sitting in a larger global entity - with some independence from the centre.
Cons
You don't work for Omnicom - that's the illusion. They talk about being the "holding company for talent" but they actually don't know what that means - and if they do they are not prepared to follow that through. The organisation is now run by accountants.
Advice to Senior Management
It's not too late. The era of natural energy from the entrepreneurs you acquired is over. Now it is about behaving like a collaborative global organisation. This does require more "centralised" behaviours - but from leaders with a people dimension. In this group people are the asset - you are not demonstrating that you believe that.
