Decent Place to Work

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
New York, NY

I worked at Omnicom

ProsFor the most part, management at Omnicom seems to care about you. Many people have worked with the company for a long time. Feels like a small place to work even though it's technically big.

ConsCommunication about changes in upper management is not always the best. Director-level personnel sometimes are not the strongest in their field but are retained due to their seniority or connections.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep the lines of communications more open to all agencies within the Omnicom family and encourage agencies to do the same... This should apply to all news - positive or negative. Given that one of Omnicom's (and Omnicom agencies') strengths is a familial atmosphere, employees should not be kept in the dark about bad news such as layoffs and staff changes. They should be given the proper information in better timing so that they can either support the company or make decisions regarding their own careers. In addition, raises and promotions should be given based on merit and in proper timing, and not so often merely as a reaction to an employee's stated desire to leave the company.
