    I worked at OneWest Bank full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    -Great coworkers
    -ATM, Large dining area, TVs, daily food trucks
    -Pay Rate/Benefits are awesome

    Cons

    -As a customer service rep, you will be subjected to almost daily verbal abuse from borrowers
    -You are told merely to "grow a backbone" if you cant handle being constantly cussed out/yelled at
    -When you ask for help from management with a call, 98% they are not there
    -Oh yeah, and forget going to the bathroom/water because it's marked against you.
    -and dont dare say the wrong thing or even breathe wrong because they are going to mark that against you too
    -Management will say one thing and do another

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be more upfront with what being a customer service rep entails. Not just "are you able to deal with change" and making it sound like the verbal abuse is rare. Be more honest about the fact that they are merely a servicer and obeying other people's rules.

    I worked at OneWest Bank full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good bonus, if you are in upper management AND are friends with the boss. Good benefits. Big cafeteria. ATM on site.

    Cons

    Call center agents get treated the worst and don't even know what is expected of them to earn a bonus. Inconsistencies are all-around. Total lack of communication. Difficult to get vacation/time off. Preferential treatment is seen everywhere in this place. Managers have no experience or degrees to back up their positions. No room for innovation or proactive thinking. 5% cap on salary increase when promoted, regardless if you go from agent I to agent II, or Supervisor I to VP or CEO.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop changing things 20 times a day, and stop fixing what is not broken. Management spends more time trying to stand out by putting down peers than trying to fix things or help the already shot morale of employees.
