I worked at OneWest Bank part-time

    Pros

Great culture and fun place to work. Fast paced environment with constant opportunities to learn and get involved. Would recommend.

    Cons

Limit opportunities after. Felt pigeon holed and confined to banking industry. Seemed as if management and junior level employees did not have same vision.

    Advice to Management

Get to know lower level employees so that there is more fluidity. Management seemed to not listen to good advice.

I worked at OneWest Bank full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

OWB gave me great opportunity to grow as an individual by allowing me to take on new projects. I was surrounded by a great team where we all helped each other.

    Cons

Started off with a great culture but towards the end of the merger, the team fell apart and great people started leaving or were let go. Things may change perhaps after the merger.

    Advice to Management

Its understandable that a business is there to make money but senior management could make the effort to spend more time to get to know individuals. You can also make your company grow if you send employees off to training.
