Pros

An organization that is making a difference.

Plenty of client interaction.

Opportunities for advancement.

Flexible scheduling.

Cons

Horrible benefits.

Promotions come without raises.

Job descriptions are very misleading.

Some upper-management personnel are slow in decision making process.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put more of your money into retaining your current employees, this might help alleviate your horrible turnover rates. Try to post more accurate job descriptions.

    Pros

Helping people is the only good part about this job.

    Cons

I worked in the Lydia House. There is absolutely awful leadership by the head woman who works there, who will lecture you if you go above her or to HR with concerns even after trying to talk with her first. She does not meet weekly with staff like she is supposed to, has favorite residents and people she clearly is against, and a very holier-than-thou attitude. It's no secret why there's a ridiculous amount of turnover. The hours are horrible, the pay is pathetic. and there is no employee development.

They preach so much about being religious-based, which is fine, but that is really a cover up for controlling your personal choices and lifestyle when you are not at work. This mean absolutely not having even one drop of alcohol ever (regardless of it being legal), no smoking cigarettes, no living with a man before you are married, etc etc. It is incredibly backward, controlling, and intrusive. There were also many employees who have made it clear they do not want anyone different to be allowed on the campus, one particular situation with a transgender male comes immediately to mind. It really goes against the love Christian outlook they claim to have.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you don't put effort into your employees, you will continue to lose them.
