I have been working at Open House Network as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

They will place you with builders near you, so your drive is only a potential long one for the interview and orientation depending on how far you are from Southlake TX. So far, I have been placed in fill-in/greeter positions close to home. The orientation is PAID training. 4 hours. It's like getting paid to have fun. You will enjoy the training. They offer direct deposit. They have decades of experience in the New Home Building business; you will be mentored during orientation and they are always available by phone during the work-day and by e-mail to help you if you have questions. They offer career opportunities for you to be hired on Full Time with a builder, so they are always acting as your recruiter and your advocate, but remember OHN is your boss. I personally got an interview with a National Builder though Open House Network and am being considered for a position that pays $35k+ with opportunities to make $85k+ after 1 year. At OHN, if you chose stay on as a fill/greeter, you are required to e-mail your availability every week. If you have college classes, for example, on Tuesday and Thursday then make yourself available Friday, Sat, Sun, Mon, & Wed. It's that simple. Work when you want! This is a Very flexible company, but the more flexible YOU are, the more work you will get and that means more $$ and more experience.

    Cons

Pay is better than minimum wage but, no matter your experience level EVERYONE starts between $9.00 and $10.00 per hour
