  2. Good company if you are interested in a work/life balance and like finance/acquisitions (not building software)

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

The acquisitions team is great at finding hidden undervalued gems of companies to acquire, and it is exciting to be involved in this process if you happen to be involved in the finance aspect of things. The company is good at enabling work/life balance and the health benefits are good.

    Cons

Finance & accounting dominates the company culture and does not mesh well with the more risk-embracing aspects of the R&D organization.

    Advice to Management

If you are going to appear to be a software company, more care should be taken to integrate the technical parts of acquired companies - Open Text is very efficient at integrating the financial entities of acquired companies, but not the engineering and IT organizations within the acquired companies.
