I worked at Optus full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Large company that offers career progression if you chase it. The people are excellent. Reasonably competitive pay. Looking to get back some of the cultural shrinkage lost over the last few years. Respected brand and employer so looks solid on CV.

Cons

No succession planning. Internal promotions don't offer much of a pay bump. An external candidate filling a role would usually get more remuneration than an internal one. GFC has lead to tightening of the belt and cultural has noticably declined but hopefully this will improve. Treck to North Ryde might be a bit much for some. Also, very Sydney centric (headoffice) if you work in other states.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management generally doing a good job but need to focus on cultural reenvigoration and being able to deliver innovation to the market quckly and seemlessly.

I worked at Optus full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

good working conditions, where they allowed flexibility for staff members to be themself and do the things that they needed to do to get the job done

    Cons

Some of the choices which were made in the departments which I was in were not to the benefit of the customers , also there were some strong political undertones which had to be followed to get ahead
