I have been working at Oracle

Pros

Can learn anything and go anywhere

Cons

Could always do better on compensation

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop your middle-level management to run P/L. Too many decisions have to go up to the top when they could be owned/managed by department/group leaders.

I worked at Oracle full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Good product offerings especially around the security pillars.

    Cons

Senior management completely tuned out. They play with people's career, and some of the resource management is completely incompetent and not qualified to run a practice.
Some Resources are not good, as long as you have tie in with management. Repeated failures will not throw you out of the company. Skill sets is not a direct match with the excessive high consulting rates. Security team is the worst performing.
Projects fail due to qualified resources as no training at all and everything is utilization based. Retention process not well defined, no career development. Difficult to move from one organization to other. Management always rejects those career changing moves.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change your attitude. Treat people with dignity and respect. And follow the industry trends. Train your people and then engage them on projects. Have a healthy working relation with license counterparts. Compensate people based on their performance.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
