I worked at Oracle full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Good Salary and Benefits. A fair amount of autonomy depending upon group. Lots of potential to learn if you are self directed.

Cons

Very difficult to get things done internally. Too man layers and too many Reps calling on the same accounts. People show up to meetings and they don't even know they all work for Oracle. Lots of time spent "protecting turf" and "proving worth" as opposed to selling solutions and insuring customer satisfaction.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change the go to market strategy and add "Major Account Managers".

I have been working at Oracle full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    -Ability to work remotely
    -Money is ok
    -Quarterly Bonus

    Cons

    -Bad Management/Leadership
-Lack of clear roles and responsibilities
-No raise, I have worked here for 3 years, and never received a raise. Depending on who you ask you get different answers, most say you need to have a change in Job title. Quarterly bonus is nice, but too inconsistent.
-As a PM, this is probably the worst place to work. They dump everything on the PM without notice or warning. PMs are asked to do more, than other organization I have seen or heard of.
-Practice Managers are poor, they do not understand the products or workflows they manage, and in a lot of cases they try to micro-manage, which just adds problems to the projects.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    -Clear roles and responsibilities
-better benefits, your a multi billion dollar company, treat your employee's better
-promote from within, so Managers have an idea on what their PMs are doing.

I have been working at Oracle full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Really nice insurance and flex time. Nice campus, decent cafeteria.

    Cons

PTO is 13 days for 3 years, then only 18 days after 3 years. Business strategy on products makes no sense. After two acquisitions, lots of people are not happy people, so place is depressing. Company is okay with poor performers and employees that won't/can't get along with others. Managers keep staff siloed - no cross training. Technical support is non-existent. A lot of time is spent trying to fix access or tools on your own. Many managers may know how to manage projects, but no clue about how to manage people. Almost all issues and problems are self-inflicted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to clean house. There are so many potential law suits waiting to happen, it would be funny if it wasn't so sad. Product performance can be directly tied to poor business decisions and personnel management.
