Pros

Learning environment-- learn the IT needs of all types of businesses in the whole world
Do things at large scale-- to make the revenue needle move at Oracle, managers plan and execute big plans. Fun to drive these engg projects and sales/mktg programs

I have been working at Oracle full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The benefits are ok, but costly. I paid about about $1000 per month, Oracle gave very little towards it.

    Cons

Let me count the ways how Oracle is really not the place to work.
    1. No raises or bonuses for a few years, Company claims they have no money
    2. Managers are incompetent. Only promoted so they can be in the next pay level. Oracle is very top heavy with managers and directors, a lot of whom don't have reporting to them.
    3. HR is useless. Complaints are not taken seriously.
    4. There's no career growth.
    5. Pay is low, so if you do end up working at Oracle, negotiate a larger salary, as you will be stuck without raises or bonuses for some time.
    6. Should you ever give a two weeks notice, be prepared to be fired on the spot and not given paperwork upon your exit or your last paycheck. Also benefits and pay cut off same day.
    7. Oracle touts itself on diversity. However, celebrating Christmas is a big no no, and dont ever use a christmas tree at any party because you will be fired. This company bends over to please the other cultures and their holidays. Oh and the company does not celebrate, or give President's day off.
In all, Oracle does not treat employees well and acts like everyone is replaceable. Because they can get some person in India or China to replace you for half the price.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to value employees. Maybe get training on what the laws are when firing employees, such as paperwork required.

I have been working at Oracle full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Look good on the resume

    Cons

    - Low moral constant for many years now
    - most of the employees are way below pay market range while Sr. management enjoys the highest paid in the country!
    - Employees have not had any salary increase or bonuses in many years (unless you are in India)
    - If you work at Oracle, do not expect any special holiday bonus or even lunch .. not for thanksgiving ... not for Christmas ... or any other holiday for that matter.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to focus on your employees compensation instead of focusing on your own pay and trying to maintain the highest paid in the US. The moral is very low as your employees have not had and compensation increase in many years now while you enjoy your annual millions!
