I have been working at Oracle full-time

Pros

Based on past performance, its a solid company. Oracle makes money.
Based on other reviews here, life as a developer/high ranking tech staff or US off shore sounds sweet.

Cons

Coming from an acquisition, the product I deal with is now a little bitty part of a giant.
Metric driven environment is subject to number padding and other coerced behaviors driven by management. Lack of US based hiring in particular workgroups.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management is not conducive to any of the cons listed here. "That's the way it is going to be and if you don't like it, work somewhere else", is the message we get.

I have been working at Oracle

    Pros

Very big company with many opportunities

    Cons

You are just a number unless you have a boss that takes interest in you. The 'self-service' HR aspect is miserable.
