I have been working at Oracle full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great place to learn new technology, best to stay for 2-3 years, learn as much as possible and move on, otherwise salary will level off. There are plenty of great companies out there. There is no 401K or stock options etc so why stay to your retire? if you take your career or job seriously, its not worth sacrificing your integrity by aligning with unethical management.

    Cons

    1. Highly unscrupulous management and business practices, promises made are not kept, eyewash. Products incubated for years generating no revenue, no accountabililty for the 'no show'
    2. Employees treated with disrespect, openly insulted by those in power.
    3. No career pathing, whatsoever
    4. Oracle hires at decent salaries however it shocking to see no raises or bonusses given to performing employees even during the good years when expectations of Wall St are met.
    5. Poor teaming, managers openly compete with their subordinates.
    6. Highly complex engineering and other processes, takes much longer to ramp up for the job than for the same position in other companies. Lot of time goes into picking up in-house processes. Complexity is reflected in their internal websites. Very difficult to obtain or process requests - the self-service websites suck, IT is horrendous - a testimony to how poorly the company is managed.
    7. In the organization I work product development and product management is highly reactive. They blindly copy their benchmarked competitor - not bothering to check whether such blind copying could create inconsistencies in their existing designs. As a result, I have seen a few products which are highly dysfuntional.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

None, we are talking ethics here - and they are beyond reform.

Stable, a little too safe with little chance of internal raises or promotion unless you're connected

I have been working at Oracle full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Large and stable, fiscally well-run. Hardware strategy firming up. Mostly flexible hours.

    Cons

Again no raises or bonuses this year for anyone. Even good years are stingy. It's so large that accomplishing something that will get noticed is difficult. Very little access to upper management unless your manager pushes. No clear or consistent messges from management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mission statement is laughably incomprehensible due to business speak. Simplify and communicate so we're all heading in the same direction.
