I worked at Oracle full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

You get to work with some bright people and you get plenty of knowledge about product internals, databases in my specific case.

Cons

Oracle Support - where I worked is terribly out dated with respect to silicon valley compensation trends. It therefore does not attract the brightest and best talent around. The appraisal system is also more egalitarian in design so those who do not pull their weight have little to be concerned about while the top performers have little to look forward to.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Product Support can be a HUGE differentiator. Stop thinking of Support and Support employees as second class corporate citizens and truly invest in rebuilding the organization with fresh management first.

I have been working at Oracle full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good pay and benefits, able to work remote. Rare to work overtime. 2-3 week vacations at a time are possible

    Cons

It is a machine set to the least common denominator. Everything is self service with huge roadblocks to over come for even the simplest thing. It gets to the point that you don't want to try anymore because there are constant roadblocks. Those coming in thinking they can change things quickly realize that it is a "rest and vest" job. No promotions, no pay increases. But, you can work remote and work bare minimum and get away with it if they is what you want. If you are wanting high career growth, excitement, and advancement, DON'T come here. If you want to end your career with a mini-retirement, then this is the place for you.

I have been working at Oracle full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Large financially secure company, reasonable work/life balance.
Exciting technologies and future potential markets.

    Cons

Don't expect any pay raises, 100% of your bonus or opportunities for career development.
Significant challenges from cloud service providers, it's unclear who will prevail.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start caring about employees who don't have VP in their title.
