I have been working at Oracle full-time for more than a year

Pros

Good reputation and good solutions; lots of recent investment in Sales training and staffing to better position key Cloud solution sets. Great underlying technology and some of the best executive leadership in the history of technology.

Cons

As the incumbent traditional software vendor, Oracle is often having to defend older products against more recently developed solutions. Usually there isn't enough benefit to move to one of the upstart solutions, yet it can be frustrating to always "defend" instead of being at the forefront with technology or strategy to "attack".

    I have been working at Oracle full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Oracle is very clear about what it's selling, and that is anything Oracle. In sales, they are very clear about what it is they want you to do and pay fairly well for success. They do have a tendency to add some sort of "gate" to commission plans that end up managing compensation. Benefits are the best I've ever seen for very low cost.

    Cons

    There is no spirit of collaboration at Oracle. Everyone is incented to compete with each other and think of themselves first, the company second, and the customer third. Moving between divisions can be difficult, unless you "know" someone. Initial compensation better be good, because there is no such thing as raises.

    Build a more "team" environment, which can be changed by incentive plans.
