Worse place in the world to work, a torture chamber

I worked at Oracle full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

None, Nada, nothing to speak of.

    Cons

This place was worse than doing time in prison (or so I imagine). Manager enjoyed placing me and two others on a performance improvement plan in pursuit of our dismissal rather than a genuine desire for improved performance. He seemed to enjoy punishing us.

    Advice to Management

Upper management needs to monitor management in their chain, as abuses do occur. The hands off attitude of this company paired with its non-transparency can create situations of extreme corruption. Their is no respect, whatsoever, for the individual contributor.

  2. Great company to work for, very stable and opportunities if you want them.

I have been working at Oracle full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Leading technology industry, largest R&D spend, long term stability. Competitive Salary and Benefits

    Cons

Because of the size of the company, some operations functionality is bogged down with process issues and application inflexibility. Corporate systems are good - but with over 100K employees - certain restrictions and freedoms are expected to be limited.

    Advice to Management

Greta opportunities to develop and establish your career with a world leader.
