I have been working at Oracle full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Competitive and collaborative work environment; Huge product foot print and plenty of opportunities to learn the latest and greatest technologies;

Cons

You have to be self driven to take advantage of the available opportunities as there is very little hand holding / mentoring.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Performance reviews are irregular and salary raise / promotion process is unpredictable.

    I have been working at Oracle full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Established Leader in many market sectors and and lots of resources to help you win deals. There is an opportunity to make a lot of money if you have the right product responsibilities in the right territory.

    Cons

    Legacy Product footprint has created a less nimble product story which has allowed companies with pure SAS stories to grab marketshare which should have been owned by Oracle. Ie SalesForce Also with the acquisition strategy to grow the applications footprint, it brought confusion to the customer with shared sales responsibilities across Oracle products This also sets up competition across sales teams for customer info and management access.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get one over all account manager that is closely tied to the customer's C level. i.e. IBM model and have the rest of the sales team support to provide a cohesive and coordinated sales strategy aligned with the customer's management goals and objectives.
