I worked at Oracle full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Brand recognition, technology depth, earnings potential, fat expense account. Oracle was fair with my customers, unlike another *large* software company I worked in which reps made their number on customer audits.

    Cons

Everybody knows about the Oracle sales culture...it will test you. Sales prevention process is overwhelming. Your experience at Oracle is primarily based on your manager and territory. Not really into phone calls from my sales manager at midnight inquiring about a deal status.

I have been working at Oracle full-time

    Pros

Great benefits, good pay depending on your position. The culture in the Minneapolis office is great. You are surrounded by mostly talented people and there is a lot of opportunity to learn.

    Cons

You have to thrive in a competitive environment to like it hear. The red tape and the internal competition can get old.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Organize the sales organization in a way such that the burden of "back office" work is put on others, so that we can stay laser focused on selling.
