I have been working at Oracle

    Pros

Oracle provides a great work-life balance (almost tipping the scale towards life than towards work). It is a large company and hence offers opportunity to work in different technology areas.

    Cons

Upper management (at least mine) is clueless in setting the vision/strategy. There is a lot of politics which may be the case in any large company. Oracle seems to be heading towards a Comp Associates like holding company strategy of growth-by-acquisition rather organic growth by building innovative products.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire better business dev people at the top to define the vision/strategy. Strong engineers/architects don't make for strong visionary business leaders.
