I worked at Orange County Schools full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

When I was there, they paid health insurance, but it the plan options were not that good. The staff members were nice, for the most part, and were team-oriented. When I first started, they were desperate for special-needs and English language-learning educators, so they offered a good way for non-traditional teachers to enter the school system.

    Cons

Pay is lower than other districts and there's not much financial reward for getting a master's degree. One of the schools I was in rotated staff members regularly, each year. It was frustrating to not have a choice in one's career from year to year. If once had more than one certification, they were penalized by being placed wherever.
