Orchard Supply Hardware OSH Employee Review

I have been working at Orchard Supply Hardware OSH

Pros – Most of the low level emploees are good people
Better than nothing

Cons – The pay is very poor. You would be lucky to get a 25 cent raise after a year of employment. There are not enough clerks to help the customers properly. Clerks now have to wear a walkie-talkie device, which can be very annoying when you are trying to help customers and are being paged on it or distracted by other announcements. Although you will be assigned to a specific zone to cover, due to the lack of help you will have to help in other zones thus leaving your zone with out anyone to help the customers. The hours are bad but I suppose that is the way it is in retail.

Advice to Senior Management – If you CARE : to have the merchandise on the shelves front and faced,the correct amount of pull tags on the displays , ad signs up on time, clerks that are not frustrated, customers who are helped in a timely manner,then hire more help. Pay more so you can hire people who really know plumbing, electrical etc. so we can deliver legendary service. And have the merchandise on hand so customers don't have to order it and come back to get it later as we seem to expect them to do.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
