Probably as good as it gets for biglaw, but that's not saying much

Managing Associate (Current Employee)
New York, NY

ProsAlternative Work Arrangements available, including Custom Track positions (80% schedule, 90% schedule, etc.) and flex time (working from home some days); many understanding partners; above-market compensation

ConsSome awful partners; long hours (as with any large New York law firm); insufficient advancement of women; some practice groups do not have sufficient work to go around; some truly abysmal support staff and services

Advice to Senior ManagementStreamline the support staff and services

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

    Great culture, but still BigLaw

    Associate (Former Employee)
    New York, NY

I worked at Orrick full-time for more than a year

Pros: Possibly the healthiest culture of all the unhealthy top law firms. Friendly, down-to-earth people. This is not a work-hard, play-hard environment - it's… Cons: The culture is so "nice" that you might get nothing but good feedback and you might not find out about a problem until performance review… Advice to Senior Management: Don't withhold constructive feedback in an effort to be kind… Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
