I worked at Osborn & Barr full-time for more than a year

Pros

Great people, varied workload and clients. Had the autonomy to do a lot and therefore gain a lot of experience

Cons

Lack of structure in regards to who to report to and who is responsible for what. When something went wrong, blame tended to be shuffled around and the problem usually ended up not getting resolved. Very reactive firm when they should have been proactive.

I have been working at Osborn & Barr full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Even if they pay at 60% industry standard, the check clears. Nobody stays past 6.

    Cons

You'll be working for a weak-willed, paranoid CEO who shakes the snowglobe every three months - thinking that this next re-org is all that's needed to fix this sinking ship. All the work is agriculture, so if you're not one of the bodysnatchers, your time is short. Apparently you have to grow up detassling corn to know how to sell it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fix the individual problems in of themselves. And talk to a doctor about some surgical intervention to get those testicles to finally drop. Get Joe Osborn to come back and bring some spirit to the creative team. As a fellow former co-worker said, "This is words and pictures on the same page. It's not advertising." Oh, and the idea that you make your clients "employees" and put them in the same building is probably the dumbest thing ever done in the history of this sport.

    I worked at Osborn & Barr full-time

    Pros

Good young cadre of people; access to sharp young folks from colleges of ag, but they don't ever last long.

    Cons

Hapless leadership. Senior leaders who, at part of their nature, divide and tear everyone down, yet implore for folks to get behind them. Usual agency stuff. C-suite needs turned over. Organization is somehow bigger yet worse than ever in its history. Current leadership can lay claim to this. And no, you aren't the only people in the organization working hard, contrary to your popular belief. This mindset is childish and demoralizing to everyone who puts their heart into the work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go away. Good people underneath you. Why you choose to ruin them is beyond comprehension.
