I have been working at Osram Sylvania full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good work life balance, lots of talented people that genuinely care about the products they work on and the jobs that they do.

    Cons

Slow in adapting to changes in the lighting technology, poor business strategy focus and implementation, weak management, gentleman's club, popularity contest to move ahead in your career.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clean house starting from the top. Implement a more focused strategy that is know by the whole organization.

I have been working at Osram Sylvania full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Good pay, plenty of overtime.

    Cons

Shortage of workers causes skilled laborers to be just operators. Most skilled workers are not skilled. Hot environment. Management tries to find ways to fire people instead of finding ways to help people out. Very strict attendance policy, and it's not a set policy. The HR manager has way too much power, workers have no voice.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If things don't change, there will be a union.
