Current Employee – been working at Otis College of Art and Design

Pros – Working in an innovative educational arts environment with creative people. Otis has a competitive benefits package with excellent paid leave for holidays due to the academic schedule. The small school environment means you will know everyone in each department which results in an extended family feel in the workplace.

Cons – Small endowment means big projects are not easy to fund. Higher education salaries tend to be lower than corporate and there is not a lot of upward mobility due to the shallow hierarchical structure.

Advice to Senior Management – Take advantage of the expertise of all the management not just from the few core positions. There is a lot of specialized knowledge to pull from at Otis.
