Terrible work life balance, I spent three solid years on foreign assignments and got poor reviews for not being visible in HQ at 123. There are a lot of fields they pretend to be experts in but know zilch about. People who join at low levels and play the game do well. Most lateral joiners move as soon as they can

Recognise who the experts are and manage around them, rather than treating them as children
